For Trade Partners

What It's Like to Get Verified Through TradeGuard.

If a general contractor you work for uses TradeGuard, your insurance and compliance documents get verified through us. Here is what that actually looks like from your side.

Short answer. It costs you nothing, it runs from your phone, and you get a named person whose job is to clear you for work faster. You keep whatever coverage you already have. Insurance only enters the conversation if something you have does not meet the requirement for the job you are trying to win.

You Get a Person, Not a Queue

Every trade partner we verify has a dedicated TradeGuard agent. Their job is not to collect paperwork from you. It is to get you qualified for work faster, and to keep you that way for the rest of the year.

  • Reads the GC's actual requirements so you do not have to decode them
  • Tells you exactly which document is missing and what it needs to say
  • Chases your existing broker directly when a certificate comes back wrong
  • Keeps your profile current as policies renew through the year

If Your Coverage Comes Up Short

Sometimes a job asks for a limit or an endorsement you do not carry. That is the one moment where being verified by a licensed agency instead of a software vendor matters.

We are a licensed agency

TradeGuard is a licensed property and casualty agency built for the trades, NPN 22154473. We are not a compliance portal that hands you a rejection and wishes you luck.

Quoted and bound the same day

When a gap is what stands between you and the job, we can quote it and in many cases bind it the same day, then issue the certificate straight to the GC.

One less middleman

We already hold the relationship with the general contractor, so we know the requirement first hand. Nothing gets relayed through a broker who has never seen the contract.

We shop across 50+ carrier markets, so closing a gap does not have to mean paying more. In many cases we find better coverage at a better price than what is already in place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nothing. The general contractor sponsors the program. You are not billed for verification, for document storage, or for your agent's time, and there is no charge for staying compliant through the year.

No. There is no portal, no account to create and no password to reset. You are on a job site, so we come to you: by text, by email, or over the phone, whichever is fastest for you. A certificate or a W-9 can go straight from your phone.

No. Plenty of the trade partners we verify keep the coverage they already have. If your policy already satisfies the requirement, we verify it and you are cleared. Insurance only comes up if there is a gap.

Usually, yes, and usually without you in the middle. Most rejections are wording rather than coverage, such as a missing additional insured endorsement, no waiver of subrogation, or the certificate holder listed wrong. We can take that up with your broker directly.

We handle it. Renewals are the most common reason a trade partner silently falls out of compliance, so we track your expiration dates and collect the new certificate before the old one lapses.

We tell you what is short and what it would take to close it. Because we are a licensed agency, we can also quote it, and in many cases bind coverage the same day so the job is not held up.

In the vast majority of cases we issue COIs within two minutes, guaranteed within 24 hours, and we can send it straight to the general contractor.

Want to Look at Your Coverage?

You do not have to. Verification works either way. But if you would rather stop managing this across two companies, we write the policies too.
